About Banff Sunshine Resort
Located just 16km southwest of Banff, Banff Sunshine Resort is situated in a high upper valley, accessible via a 15-minute gondola ride from the base access point. The resort spans over three main peaks: Mount Standish, Lookout Mountain, and Goat's Eye Mountain. These peaks offer diverse terrain suitable for all skill levels, from novice-friendly slopes to challenging expert runs.
During the winter months, Banff Sunshine offers activities like skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. With over 3,300 skiable acres and the longest non-glacial ski season in Canada, there's ample opportunity to enjoy the pristine powder snow and varied terrain.
Mount Standish is perfect for beginners and intermediates, with scenic runs that'll make you feel like you're floating on air. Lookout Mountain and Goat's Eye Mountain up the ante with some seriously epic terrain, including the infamous Wild West and Delirium Dive areas for the adrenaline enthusiasts out there.
While Banff Sunshine primarily attracts visitors during the winter season for skiing and snowboarding, it also offers opportunities for summer activities such as sightseeing, hiking, and exploring the Sunshine Meadows. The resort's stunning alpine landscapes provide a picturesque backdrop for outdoor adventures.
Unlike other resorts in the area, Banff Sunshine offers on-hill accommodation at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, making it a convenient option for guests. Additionally, there are various off-mountain accommodation options available in nearby towns such as Banff and Lake Louise.
Pros of Banff Sunshine include magnificent scenery, on-mountain accommodation, diverse terrain, and excellent snow quality. However, it can get crowded on weekends, and some areas may have flat spots that could inconvenience snowboarders. Nevertheless, the resort's stunning views and extensive terrain make it a preferred destination.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time shredder, Banff Sunshine has everything you need for an unforgettable winter getaway. Start planning your trip with the Lodging Company today.
