The location is perfect as it's just outside of the Village but close enough to walk there within 4-5 minutes.

There are great views regardless of which unit you are staying in. Having a private hot tub is always nice to relax in, especially after a day on the slopes in the winter, or hiking or mountain biking in the summer.

Crystal Forest is also very close to the outdoor skating rink.

When you are walking into the Village stop by the Ice Cream/Chocolate Shop, it's amazing!

I consider Crystal Forest to be one of the best values at Sun Peaks. The units aren't overly luxurious, but they are clean, comfortable and offer relatively easy access to both the slopes (ski-in/walk-out) and the village (a five minute walk).

Amenity-wise, most of the units have private hot tubs, all have fire places and there is a common fire-pit in the center of the complex, but you won't find things like a fitness room, pool or sauna here (although, the summer-only Sun Peaks pool is just 300 meters down the road).

There are ground floor and upper-level units in the complex, both of which are just fine if you are a group of adults or have older kids, but if you are travelling with an infant and all of the associated gear (strollers, play-pens, etc.), you will likely want to try to get one of the ground floor units. Packing all of your belongings from the underground parking to the upper-level units is a little cumbersome, but by the time you add a baby and all their stuff, it's a little more than I would take on again, given the choice.

Crystal Forest is a quick, 5 minute walk into the village and about 10 minutes from the main lifts. Now walking around in ski boots means you might want to take advantage of the shuttle or the lockers in the Village Day Lodge. The condos offer private hot tubs which is a huge bonus after a long day on the slopes. Inside, the units are warm and inviting, nothing over the top fancy but there is a feeling of being at home at Crystal Forest. As these condos are a little out of the way the pricing is very fair and the value for your dollar is well met.

We stayed for 2 nights in the off-season and had an incredible time! The 1 bedroom condo we were in was very cute and cozy, but we had all the room we needed.
The private hot tub was out on a tiny balcony and took up the whole thing. While it was a little bit awkward at first due to the hot tub being *right* outside the door, it added to the cozy experience and became our favorite part! The kitchen was small, but fully stocked - from utensils, pots/pans, dishes, and appliances to complimentary coffee/tea - they even supply plastic cups to use in the hot tub! We had an AUX cable, so we could use the ipod dock to listen to music, and inside the coffee table were games ("Headbandz", "Trivial Pursuit", etc.). The only TV was in the bedroom and there was the best collection of movies to choose from. For me personally, I found the bed to be too hard, but I'm one of those people who needs super soft beds, so most people wouldn't have noticed. We walked everywhere in the village as we were so close, and parking there is underground making it super convenient.

Overall, it was an amazing weekend. Can't wait to stay again!

PS - must be okay with stairs.

What we liked. It was beautifully decorated. It was quiet. Hot tub. Decent views. Private ski locker. Full kitchen. Washer/dryer. Heated garage. TV with streaming services.
What we didn't like. No storage for food. Limited storage for clothing--under bed drawers difficult to access. All upper shelves in 2nd bedroom taken up by holiday decorations. Limited dining space/tiny dining room table/bar counter was used to store food. "Ski-in" is a stretch--easier to drive than to walk to lifts in ski boots. Location great for walkers, tough for skiers.

This unit is in a great location. However, it really needs a furniture upgrade in the main living space and although there is Telus Optik TV, there aren't any channels that we could figure out. This was very disappointing as we had non-skiers in our group and the Olympics were on during our stay.

Unit 57 is where we stayed. It is well kept and clean. Beds are comfortable and living room with fireplace is really cozy. The jacuzzi works perfectly. Although it says it is a ski in ski out, access to slopes is not that easy from this unit. We had to carry our skis for over 400mts to get to a place where we could put them on and start sliding towards the nearest run. The kitchen is lacking a blender, and there were no blankets, we did ask for them and got them the day after. Overall we had a great vacation but it is not ski in ski out.

Comfortable and clean accommodation, but not ski out as there is a 10 minute walk down the road to the Orient lift, which then requires a quick ski to the center of the village and the main lifts. Walking to the main village center in ski boots and gear is just too hard, however, there is a bus stop close to the complex and the bus to the village center comes every 45 minutes.
