Benefits of Travel Insurance

Peace of Mind

Financial Protection

Comprehensive Coverage
Travel insurance covers the cost of your non-refundable, prepaid travel arrangements. Travel protection gives travelers coverage for unforseen problems — from a canceled flight to a serious illness. If an illness, accident, or other covered circumstance forces a traveler to cancel or interrupt their plans, they face two major financial losses: money invested in non-refundable prepayments and medical expenses that, in many instances, may not be covered by health insurance. Travel Insurance FAQ
Travel insurance is designed to protect travelers against certain financial risks and losses caused by medical and non-medical issues that may occur either before or during a trip. Some examples may include a medical emergency, delayed baggage, or last-minute trip cancellation.
Depending on the plan you choose, travel insurance can provide benefits for a number of situations that may occur before or during your trip. These benefits may include:
- Trip Cancellation
- Trip Interruption
- Emergency Medical Transportation
- Emergency Medical / Dental
- Lost / Stolen / Delayed Baggage
- Travel Delay
- Rental Car Protection
- 24-Hour Hotline Assistance
Note: Not all plans include each benefit listed here. For more information, please refer to your policy documents or speak to an agent to obtain a quote.
A travel medical insurance plan provides emergency health and medical coverage in the event of an accident, injury or sickness beyond your control. Travel insurance can offset the high medical costs associated with being ill while traveling. Likewise, trip cancellation and interruption insurance can offset financial loss resulting from your pre-paid, non-refundable trip costs if you have to cancel your travel plans for an insured reason.
Travel insurance may cost between 5% and 8% of your total pre-paid and non-refundable trip costs. Some factors can result in premiums outside of the range noted above. Travel insurance costs will vary based on plan selected, trip length, age and number of travelers.
It is recommended to purchase travel insurance as soon as you book your trip or holiday to ensure the maximum coverage is available to you.
For eligible travelers, travel insurance can be purchased online when making a reservation with us here at The Lodging Company.
